Daily Cartoon: Futurama S03E01 “The Honking”

Welcome to your Friday cartoon recap where today we’ll be looking at what I believe is the only Halloween themed episode of Futurama. This was one of those shows that I didn’t truly appreciate during its run and only really came to love once it was being shown in marathons on Comedy Central.

I can’t tell you why I didn’t love it from the jump; maybe unfamiliarity, maybe the way it kept getting jerked around into different time slots all the time, I don’t know. But it took a while for this to become a show that I would think of as one of “my” shows.

In my research – the equivalent of Googling “Futurama Halloween” – I came across this episode and thought it’d make a fine addition to this cavalcade of blogs I’ve got going on right now. It’s Halloween Futurama-style. What could go wrong?

Ep. 20 : “Treehouse of Horror”

This week’s episode was action-packed! We start off talking about the new season of THE WALKING DEAD and the new Lady Gaga album, “Joanne” in addition to our memories of the Columbia House CD club.

Then the six weeks of horror continue with TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL and a Halloween episode of “Castle”!

This week’s main event has the boys tackle every Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror special ever including an attempted rating before concluding with the Big Finish and our first ever on-air fight!

Ep. 19: “Luke Cage”

Hey! It’s a new episode! This week we talk about the new Netflix series “Luke Cage” and continue the six weeks of horrow with KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE and a Halloween special from one of our favorite shows ever, “Community”. We also spit some sports because…well, we like sports. Enjoy!

 

Ep. 17: Universal Monsters & The Monster Squad

Welcome back! Episode 17 was a lot of fun as we talk about old Universal Monster movies (Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolf Man & Creature From The Black Lagoon) and then follow it up with The Monster Squad. It’s a fun look at some of the most iconic characters ever and we’ll think you’ll really enjoy this one!
